I thought it would be illegal to do to an alligator as well but I was wrong. We just wont tell PETA.
The American alligator is federally classified as “threatened due to similarity of appearance” to other endangered and threatened crocodilians. This provides federal protection for alligators but allows state-approved management and control programs. Alligators can be legally taken only by individuals with proper licenses or permits. Florida, Louisiana, Georgia, South Carolina, and Texas have problem or nuisance alligator control programs that allow permitted hunters to kill or facilitate the removal of nuisance alligators. Other states use state wildlife officials to remove problem animals.

Started the day at 4:00am. Clark picked me up at 5:00am and we met Brent at the New Orleans Airport. At 5:30am the airport was packed with LSU fans heading to the game. Clark and Brent flew out early and I waited (and worked) for Chris, Jeff, and Ben to arrive. We left Nola at 10:15am connected in Las Vegas and then flew to Reno and then Seattle. Pretty uneventful trip except that while in Las Vegas, we saw Bridget from the Girls Next Door, as evidenced in this photo. Arrived in Seattle around 7:00 PM Pacific time and took the Air
Link to hotel. Met a cranky Clark and Brent, took a shower and then headed to Icon Grill which was across from the Westin where we were staying. The food was wonderful but I had been up for 24 hours straight. I went back to the Westin after dinner and went to sleep.

View Baton Rouge Street Car Line in a larger map
Although I no longer live in Baton Rouge, I still think about ways to improve the city, so that eventually I can make a McArthur like return. One of things I love about New Orleans is that I can go weeks at a time without driving. I take the Street Card into the CBD and Taxi / Walk when I go out.
Baton Rouge has no mass transit system, or not one that is used a lot. Its taxi cab service is a joke. I remember one time waiting an hour for a Taxi Cab to pick us up from a bar. In New Orleans, I don’t think I have waited more then 5 minutes for a cab.
I was talking about mass transit with my friend John Bullock today and we came up with the ideal that Baton Rouge should mimic the St.Charles Street Car line. Since Baton Rouge franchises all of New Orleans restaurants, why don’t they franchise one of the most iconic images of New Orleans (Stella!!!). Replicate the New Orleans Street Car Line on St. Charles to Perkins Road.
Could you imagine bar hopping from Chelsea's, the Bull Dog, and Perkins Rowe without driving. You have to imagine, because in Baton Rouge, the states Capital, that is impossible. The original line would use a street car like the one below that ran from Park Ave to Perkins Rowe. We could look at expanding that based on the need.

Here is a model of the top of Car I would like. I went to White Lights on Government Street a couple of years ago and they ran similar cars. Run the stops on a 15 minute schedule to 3am.
I don’t know if this would be profitable or pay for itself, but at you look at the big picture, an act like this would positively improve the image of Baton Rouge a hundred fold and maybe convince some people it is time to move back home.

LSU fans seem to want to give Les Miles the boot. I take this from what I have heard around town and this quote from Dandydon.com.
Saturday was my all-time busiest day for emails on a Saturday, by far. In many of the emails I received, Tiger fans expressed that they would like to see Les Miles and his staff replaced, but I can guarantee everyone that Miles will be at LSU for at least the 2009 season. However, if LSU's record falls below even in 2009 Miles will probably be in serious trouble.
If you were at all loyal, you might want to take the entire body of work of Les Miles, and trust him to do the correct thing.
You might think that given the fact that we lost Bo Pelini (Nebraska is 8-4), Matt Flynn, Ryan Perrilloux, Glen Dorsey (The most decorated defensive player in school history), and Jacob Hester, we might have down year.
You might realize that Florida went 8-5 last year and now is playing in the national championship.
You might realize that after losing Rohan Davey, Nick Saban went 8-5 in his third year at LSU. If we win our bowl game, we will have gone 8-5.
You might realize that LSU not that great of school to be a football player. If my son was the next Brent Favre\Tom Brady, I would do everything in my power to discourage him from going to LSU. I have seen and heard how Tiger Fan’s treat a 19 year old Freshman Quarterback.
By the way, keep bitching about how Nick Saban is so unloyal and how he left us. If any coach was perceived as doing bad at LSU, no one would think twice about tearing up their contract.
If LSU fires Les Miles, I hope that he goes to Michigan and wins 10 national championships in a row, and LSU never beats an SEC Team again.

Been a very hectic football season for me this year. I made the App State game and that was it. I have had to work pretty much every weekend. Pretty big deal since I have made every LSU game since 1998 that I have been in town.
While I kind of regret not tailgaiting right now, I don’t want to be around a whole bunch of LSU fans right now talking about Nick Satan. Quiet frankly, it is pathetic.
How many people do you personally know that took a job promotion, realized they did not like their new job and went back to their old position albeit for a different company. That is exactly what Nick Saban did. Steve Spurrier did the exact same thing and Florida welcomes him back to the swamp with open arms.
It might be a shocker to some, but in my life, some girls have rejected me. Anytime people ask me what happened, I say “We had some could times together, it did not work out, but I wish her the best.” I don’t go around telling everyone I know how the girl: betrayed me/is a whore/is a liar/is greedy/ is un-loyal, because I don’t want to be “That Guy”. You know, the guy that never gets over the girl even thought he is with a new girl who is pretty amazing in her own self (three 10 win season, 3 Bowl Blowouts, SEC Championship, National Championship, Les Miles). “That Guy” that keeps calling the girl up at 3am crying on the phone, stalks her and her family, sends her flowers, shows up when she is on a date, “That Guy” who everyone knows is a loser. The LSU fans that cannot get over Saban, are that guy.

The message board at Tiger Droppings have been spreading all sorts of rumors of what happened early Friday Morning at the Varsity. Somehow, the debate turned away from what happened to why Clark is not in the Marine Corps. I have posted some of the best parts below. It ends with a poster believing that Clark died in Iraq. If that it true, I am taking my dining room back!
quote:
BTW the Varisty owner is a huge Bama fan, no lie.
You're an idiot.
I know the owner of the Varsity listed in the FoxSports writeup on this (initials BM), as well as his brother, who's a bartender there, and have known both for around 15 years.
The owner went to Texas A&M but left before graduation.
The brother / bartender is either a current or former LSU student.
re: Updated Tues RP Thread: Keep ALL Posts Here (Posted on 10/30 at 4:43 p.m. to Lsut81)
for the record
i'm very sorry for McGurdy that died, but incorrect facts....
his name is McClelland, his brother (who also works at the varsity) is in the military, but didn't go to iraq, and brent's the manager
I can attest to SFP's posting on this.
BM is the manager and the older brother. He's a former Texas A&M student, NOT Bama like someone claimed above, so it's not a "OMG, Bama's screwing us!" deal.
The brother, whom I graduated HS with, is a bartender there now. He is supposed to be in the Marines but never deployed and no one has the exact story on why that is.
clark?
quote:
He is supposed to be in the Marines but never deployed and no one has the exact story on why that is.
He's obviously not active duty or he would not be a bartender in Baton Rouge. So maybe he's a reservist, or maybe this is just one more inaccuracy in the 4 days and 500 pages of hearsay about this incident.
he problem is that I hadn't talked directly about that subject with him for more than 30 seconds in the few times I've seen him lately.
I was at The Varsity a few weeks ago for the Ingram Hill concert and saw him there tending bar, which shocked me.
I asked him if he was supposed to be in the Marines and he didn't really give an answer that I could remember.
The last time I'd seen him before that was about two years ago, when he was supposed to be going in the next week for his uniform.
please stop posting names. the managers brother is not in the marines. the head bouncer was in the marines. as i was in the navy. do not bring his brother into this. the managers or the head bouncers that was brought up earlier in this thread. i only posted info over the weekend that was told to me by people there. that's it. again please out of respect to people's private lives, do not post their names on here. i know there already in the media, but please stop posting them here. thank you.
quote:
hey! i made SFP come post that because of whoever was saying that one of clark OR brent's brothers died...did you graduate from ehs?
and he's doing officer training school---or whatever you call it...i don't know a ton about the military, so i probably sound ignorant..but I know both of them very well and was only trying to clarify
EHS, '98.
I graduated with Clark and have known him since the 6th grade.
quote:
Convicting him of what?
Didn't he rape some bouncer's marine brother, or something. . .losing track of all the accusations out there.
quote:
actually it is...sarcasm can be a great tool for pointing out out-of-control absurdity...
No, it's not funny to talk about someones dead brother who served in Iraq being raped in a joking manner.
I don't find that funny in the least bit.

After multiple witnesses saw you in a fight outside the varsity, the police are investigating the incident, and you have already been arrested twice, it is probably not a good ideal to post statements on facebook like:
"Derrick is sayin the fight dont end til u die BITCH,"
and
"is trippin on how these fools try to run up on u behind ya back when they know they cant fuck wit u 1 on 1 but he got something that will shut all that shit down."
Anyone stupid enough to make those posts needs to be kicked off the team and encouraged not to breed.

LSU is 7-1 (4-1) Sec Conference.
5 of the 8 Teams LSU beat were ranked.
LSU lost away to a 6-2 team in triple overtime.
In his 3 years at LSU Les Miles has the best winning percentage of any coach @ .906
LSU is 77-21 since 2000 and if Les Miles can pull off one more win this decade it will be a new school record.
Now lets look at the last decade.
Between 1990-1999 LSU was 54 - 58 and only had 2 ranked seasons.
1990 5-6
1991 5-6
1992 2-9
1993 5-6
1994 4-7
1995 7-4-1
1996 10-2
1997 9-3
1998 4-7
1999 3-8
While you complain now during the golden age of LSU Football remember what the good old days were like.
